Come join us in shaping the future of healthcare.About the RoleThe Corporate Controller is a pivotal role at Athelas + Commure. Our vision is that after two to three years, you will have built the financial systems, controls, documentation, and reporting cadence for us to operate as a public company. Delivering this goal will require technical skills, comfort with ambiguity, a growth mindset, tenacity, cross-functional empathy, and an ability to recruit, build, and manage a world class accounting organization. This role reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations adherence to new accounting standards, external audit, accounting systems, and financial reporting.What Youll Do<ul><li>Direct day-to-day accounting operations including execution of accounting policy, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, international accounting, revenue recognition under AS606, tax, treasury, and stock administration and equity accounting</li><li>Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP</li><li>Analyze accounts and suggest improvements to reduce costs, increase efficiency, remove manual touchpoints, and increase profit</li><li>Assist with monthly and quarterly management and board reporting packages</li><li>Oversee accounting integration for mergers &amp; acquisitions</li><li>Own relationships with external auditors and global accounting/tax advisors</li><li>Design, implement, and iterate the accounting tech stack with an eye toward future growth and cost efficiency</li><li>Lead complex projects that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, or employee satisfaction of accounting operations</li><li>Recruit, hire, retain, and mentor a team of accounting professionals as the company scales</li></ul>What You Have<ul><li>10+ years of technical and operational accounting experience in a high-growth, unstructured environment involving M&amp;A</li><li>An active CPA license</li><li>An eagerness to flex between operating at the journal entry level while thinking strategically about the future of the accounting team and company as a whole</li><li>A history of scaling accounting operations in a private and public company setting</li><li>Experience implementing, integrating, and/or substantially rebuilding NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp, Rippling, or equivalent financial systems</li><li>Strong knowledge of non-GAAP industry metrics applicable to SaaS companies</li><li>An innate sense of urgency and ability to drive multiple, concurrent projects to completion</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, compelling narratives</li><li>Comfort in a front-facing role, with the ability to confidently present to senior executives and external partners</li></ul>Commure + Athelas is committed to creating and fostering a diverse team.
