Attendance is expected and fully supported.</p></div><p>We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team, specifically focusing on our Prime Financing and Capital Markets operations. This is a critical role that will drive the accurate and compliant accounting for complex digital asset lending, borrowing, derivatives, and other structured products. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP/IFRS), a strong understanding of traditional capital markets products and prime financing businesses, and a proven ability to apply these principles to the unique characteristics of the cryptocurrency landscape. You will be instrumental in building out scalable processes, ensuring robust internal controls, and providing insightful financial analysis for our rapidly expanding institutional offerings.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):</strong><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain accounting processes for prime financing and capital markets, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and crypto-specific guidance (e.g., FASB ASU 2023-08).</li> <li>Apply standards like ASC 815, ASC 860, and ASC 825 to activities such as crypto lending/borrowing, derivatives, and prime brokerage services.</li> <li>Oversee accurate and timely recording of transactions, including interest, trading gains/losses, fees, and collateral movements.</li> <li>Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for prime financing and capital markets.</li> <li>Design and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls, addressing crypto-specific risks like custody, smart contracts, and private key management.</li> <li>Work with Product, Risk, and Legal teams to assess accounting implications of new products and ensure proper system setup.</li> <li>Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes using blockchain data and external tools.</li> <li>Conduct P&amp;L and balance sheet analysis, support audits, and stay updated on regulatory requirements impacting digital asset services.</li> <li>Assist in preparing regulatory filings and disclosures for prime financing and capital markets.</li> <li>Manage and mentor accounting teams, foster cross-department collaboration, and lead projects related to financial infrastructure and new product launches.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):</strong><strong>  </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li> <li>CPA designation required.</li> <li>10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4-5 years specifically in <strong>prime brokerage, capital markets, or complex financial instruments accounting</strong> within a financial institution (e.g., investment bank, hedge fund, broker-dealer).</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and apply accounting principles to novel crypto transactions.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex accounting issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Experience with SOX compliance within a financial services context.</li> <li>Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Google Suite skills. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with a crypto prime brokerage or institutional digital asset firm.</li> <li>Familiarity with specific crypto accounting software or blockchain analytics platforms.</li> <li>Experience with multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange impact on financial instruments.</li> <li>Proven, deep understanding and hands-on experience with digital assets, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency markets.
