You will build trusted relationships with engineering and senior stakeholders, aligning CockroachDB’s capabilities with the customer’s long-term technical and business goals. This role demands deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to drive value across complex customer environments.</p> <h2><strong>You Will</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Serve as the senior technical liaison for high-value enterprise accounts, guiding them through advanced adoption, architectural design, and operational maturity with CockroachDB.</li> <li>Partner with the Account Executive and Strategic CSM to develop strategic roadmaps and success plans that drive long-term value.</li> <li>Lead cross-functional efforts across Sales, Product, Support, and Engineering to deliver an exceptional customer experience and advocate for customer priorities internally.</li> <li>Own and lead resolution of critical escalations, coordinating efforts across technical teams and executive stakeholders to drive customers to production</li> <li>Deliver advanced technical workshops, architecture reviews, and thought leadership sessions to customer teams.</li> <li>Identify and drive upsell and expansion opportunities through deep understanding of customer environments and business needs.</li> <li>Influence product development by providing structured feedback based on enterprise customer use cases and requirements.</li> <li>Lead initiatives to develop tools, processes, and best practices that improve TAM operations and customer engagement at scale.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>The Expectations</strong></h2> <p>In your first 30 days: You will gain deep familiarity with CockroachDB and our enterprise customer base. You’ll begin engaging with key accounts and participate in strategic planning sessions.</p> <p>By 90 days: You will independently own a portfolio of complex enterprise accounts, serve as the primary strategic advisor, and lead initiatives across Customer Engineering.</p> <h2><strong>You Have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>8+ years in customer-facing technical roles, with at least 3+ years in a senior TAM, Solutions Architect, or Strategic Support Engineering position.</li> <li>Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and database technologies (CockroachDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).</li> <li>Proven ability to lead complex technical engagements and influence C-level and VP stakeholders.</li> <li>Strong project and program management skills; PMP or similar certification is a plus.</li> <li>Outstanding communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in a high-growth, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.</li> <li>Experience mentoring junior team members or leading teams is a strong plus.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred:</h3> <ul> <li>Direct experience with CockroachDB or comparable distributed SQL databases.</li> <li>Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.</li> <li>Deep familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP deployment models and best practices.</li> <li>Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare) is advantageous.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <hr /> <p>Cockroach Labs is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
