<p>We’re hiring a Marketing &amp; Community Manager to support the AlmaLinux Foundation, a community-driven open-source OS used by thousands around the world.</p><p>This role is sponsored by TuxCare/CloudLinux, long-time backers of AlmaLinux and open-source initiatives.</p><p>This position blends marketing strategy, community engagement, and event planning. You’ll help grow the AlmaLinux community, support contributors and volunteers, and build meaningful partnerships across the open-source ecosystem.</p><h3>What you’ll do:</h3><ul> <li>Lead and execute Linux community-driven marketing efforts and campaigns<br /> </li> <li>Create and manage engaging content: blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and social media<br /> </li> <li>Define and maintain AlmaLinux’s voice and tone across platforms<br /> </li> <li>Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers and contributors<br /> </li> <li>Manage and moderate community forums and ensure helpful, inclusive participation<br /> </li> <li>Plan and run events like AlmaLinux Days and our presence at industry conferences<br /> </li> <li>Build relationships with sponsors, contributors, and other open-source projects<br /> </li> <li>Measure and optimize outreach, engagement, and impact using data and community feedback</li> </ul><h3>What we’re looking for:</h3><ul> <li>5+ years in marketing, community building, or developer-focused outreach<br /> </li> <li>Excellent communication skills, able to navigate sensitive community interactions with care<br /> </li> <li>Understanding of Linux, open-source ecosystems, and technical communities<br /> </li> <li>Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment<br /> </li> <li>Familiarity with tools like Git, Markdown, simple website platforms, Canva or Adobe Illustrator, and basic video editors<br /> </li> <li>Bonus if you’ve organized events, contributed to open source, or have a background in design or user experience</li> </ul>
