Role Summary:The Junior Java Developer is an entry-level professional role focusing on the development and support of a Equities high-touch trading platform, with a specific emphasis on the special equity desk and Indications of Interest (IOIs). This role involves applying foundational Java development knowledge to build, enhance, and maintain critical trading systems. The individual will be responsible for interpreting functional requirements, implementing robust and efficient code, and participating in the full software development lifecycle. The role requires a basic understanding of database interactions, middleware technologies, and XML for data handling. While focused on specific trading functionalities, the developer will also contribute to identifying and resolving technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance.Key Responsibilities:As a Junior Java Developer, you will be primarily involved in developing and supporting the high-touch trading tools for the special equity desk and IOIs. Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Java Development: Designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality Java code for trading applications.</li><li>System Enhancement: Enhancing existing platform components to improve performance, add new features, and ensure scalability for trading operations.</li><li>Database Interaction: Working with various database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) to store, retrieve, and manage trading data efficiently.</li><li>Middleware Integration: Implementing and maintaining integrations with middleware solutions to ensure seamless data flow between different system components.</li><li>XML Processing: Developing solutions for processing and handling XML data for trade messages, configurations, and other system interactions.</li><li>Troubleshooting &amp; Support: Assisting in the identification, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues and bugs within the trading platform.</li><li>Collaboration: Collaborating with senior developers, traders, and business analysts to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.</li><li>Risk Management: Contributing to the appropriate assessment of risk in technical decisions, adhering to best practices for system integrity and safeguarding firm assets.
