Backend Middleware Lead Developer (Vice President) - HybridThe Backend Middleware Lead Developer (Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst - C13) is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements</li><li>Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards</li><li>Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint</li><li>Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation</li><li>Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals</li><li>Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions</li><li>Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary</li><li>Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>6+ years of application development experience in Java</li><li>Strong experience in RDMS Database SQL (Oracle/Sybase) queries. PL/SQL, and advanced tuning techniques and Database upgrade/migration approaches</li><li>Experience with Messaging (e.g., Kafka, Tibco, Rabbit (MQ))</li><li>Experience in Middleware (Tomcat and WebSphere) and Cloud Containerization (ECS) and CICD tools; Angular, ExtJS, JMS, JSON, XML, ROD, LightSpeed.</li><li>Experience in Spring Boot / Microservices and event-based architecture / Consuming REST API experience</li><li>Experience of collaboration tools (source control) like GIT/BitBucket/GitHub Copilot; and tools like JIRA etc.</li><li>Experience in Unix (Linux) commands &amp; scripting</li><li>Experience in data analysis, data modeling and SQL performance tuning, exception Handling</li></ul> Preferred Skillsets:<ul><li>Good Knowledge &amp; Experience on Workflow (e.g., JBPM) is a plus.</li><li>Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities</li><li>Strong communication skills - should be able to communicate effectively with business and other stakeholders.</li><li>Strong hands-on experience in coding in JAVA/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Batch, Spring framework stack, SOAP/Restful Services</li><li>Strong hands-on experience in writing SQL queries and data analysis</li><li>Knowledge of scheduling tools like IBM Autosys is preferable</li><li>Experience with SSH clients (sftp/scp, etc.) for terminal access and file transfer</li><li>Strong Software design Skills like Database Packages working in multi-threaded environment</li><li>Financial Industry experience preferred</li></ul> Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience</li><li>Master’s degree preferred</li></ul>This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
