<h4><strong>About the Role</strong></h4> <p>As a Staff Engineer on the ML Platform team at Chime, youll architect and lead development of scalable ML infrastructure used to fight fraud, personalize experiences, and power intelligent decision-making across Chime. Youll define foundational systems that enable model training, real-time inference, and ML observability at scale. You’ll collaborate across teams to accelerate Chime’s AI ambitions and shape the future of ML at Chime.</p> <p>The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $198,990.00 and up to $281,900.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.</p> <h4><strong>In this role, you can expect to:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Design and scale ML infrastructure for real-time and batch inference</li> <li>Lead architectural decisions for feature pipelines, model training, deployment, and monitoring systems</li> <li>Drive platform reliability and observability, including SLOs, dependency graphs, and drift detection</li> <li>Build high-throughput, low-latency APIs integrating with core Chime services</li> <li>Partner with Data Science, Risk, and Product teams to ensure ML solutions are robust, compliant, and performant</li> <li>Guide adoption and evolution of our SageMaker-based ML training pipelines</li> <li>Mentor engineers and contribute to technical strategy for the ML Platform team</li> </ul> <h4><strong>To thrive in this role, you have:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>7+ years of experience in backend or ML infrastructure roles</li> <li>5+ years building scalable systems with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, S3, Kinesis), Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform</li> <li>Proficiency with Python, Golang, or equivalent; deep knowledge of distributed systems</li> <li>Experience in MLOps and ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, Feature Stores)</li> <li>Familiarity with model observability techniques: drift detection, model explainability, cohorting</li> <li>Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring engineers</li> <li>Familiarity with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, DynamoDB), Arize, Kumo.ai, Datadog, Terraform, Kinesis, Snowflake, Python</li> </ul> <p>#LI-Hybrid #LI-GC1</p><div><h2><strong>A little about us</strong></h2> <p>At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
