<h3>About the Role</h3> Chime’s Lending product is entering its next chapter—graduating from pilot to general availability after a 2.5 year journey. We’ve just hit a major milestone with over one million loans originated and are setting our sights on scaling to 5–10 million. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-visibility initiative and lead the redesign of our mobile experience from the ground up. You’ll be joining a cross-functional team with strong product-market fit and working alongside a dedicated designer to build a polished, intuitive experience that serves millions. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $157,590 and up to $218,900. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. <h3>In this role, you can expect to:</h3> <ul> <li>Redesign and rebuild the Lending mobile experience for Chime from the ground up using React Native.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver high-quality mobile features.</li> <li>Build user interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and performant across devices. Own and improve core product flows, ensuring a frictionless experience for Chime members. Work with a designer to lead the refresh effort.</li> <li>Contribute to code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Monitor app performance, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver continuous improvements.</li> </ul> <h3>To thrive in this role, you:</h3> <ul> <li>Have 3+ years of overall professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years specifically using React Native to build member-facing mobile experiences that support scalable, high-impact products.</li> <li>Have worked on consumer mobile apps in production, delivering improvements through experimentation and user feedback.</li> <li>Have integrated RESTful APIs to connect mobile frontends with backend services for a seamless user experience.</li> <li>Have debugged and improved performance across the mobile stack to ensure app responsiveness and reliability.</li> <li>Have built secure and compliant features in highly regulated environments (bonus if in FinTech).</li> <li>Have collaborated across functions to drive mobile-first thinking and member-centric design.</li> <li>Have contributed to a culture of code quality, testing, and team ownership.</li> </ul> #LI-Hybrid #LI-AA1<div><h2>A little about us</h2> At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
