Summary:
Under general direction of the designated Manager, the Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, crafting and executing queries upon request for data, and presenting information through reports and visualization
Primary duties & responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark and python.
Build and manage ETL/ELT workflows to support data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
Create interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
Work with stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across all reporting tools and analytics platforms.
Implement data governance and security best practices in collaboration with IT and compliance teams.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance the performance of data processing and reporting systems.
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Units to ensure alignment on data initiatives.
Education:
Requires some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelors Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Work experience:
Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; experience in application programming is an asset.
Work experience:
Proven experience as a BI Developer with hands-on knowledge of one or more business intelligence tools (Microsoft Power BI, Qlikview, Business Objects).
In-depth knowledge of and experience with data analysis techniques.
Advanced knowledge of SQLAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Good analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply applications knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
Good ability to identify issues, troubleshoot underlying problems, and implement solutions.
Good interpersonal skills; effective team player
