Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Cloud Engineering analyzes the financial, operational, and technical feasibility of adopting external cloud based IT software, platform and infrastructure services. This job family evaluates the costs and benefits of cloud, virtual private networks, dedicated housing, and in-house solutions and identifies portions of the organization’s IT infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment. Cloud Engineering also manages the implementation of cloud services and their integration with in-house applications and systems, coordinating with vendors and adhering to engineering best practices.

The Cloud Engineer role requires an understanding of Cloud Technologies (specifically GCP, AWS, Azure) and Services, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and IT Operations based on ITIL Framework. The role’s primary focus is to provide build and operations expertise with a high focus on automation in areas such as performance, monitoring, logging, security, backups/HA/DR, compliance, and ensuring the operations processes and standards are maintained in production.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the GCP, Microsoft Azure cloud environment is running smoothly by managing, monitoring, and maintaining GCP, Azure services and resources.
  • Implement best practices to ensure the security and performance of the GCP, Azure environment.
  • Resolve technical issues to meet the organizations needs.
  • Set up and maintain virtual machines, storage, and networking resources to support cloud-based applications.
  • Set up and maintain GCP, Azure to support cloud-based workloads
  • Monitor the cloud environments performance to promote maximum uptime and minimal downtime.
  • Ensure the security of the GCP, Azure environment by conducting regular security audits, staying updated on security threats, and educating users about security best practices.
  • Support and roll out new GCP, Azure services.
  • Assist with GCP, Azure cloud migration initiatives.
  • Conduct all cloud configuration through Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Demonstrate Jira knowledge

Qualifications

  • 1-3 Years of experience with GCP, certification preferred.
  • 1-2 Years of experience with Azure or AWS preferred
  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills preferred 
  • Security compliance experience such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001 or SOX preferred
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to all aspects of the position preferred

Anticipated salary range: $93,500 - $140,280
