What Global Risk Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Global Risk Management is responsible for developing, recommending and administering executive risk, property and casualty risk transfer and loss prevention programs to protect Cardinal Health employees and assets from physical injury and damage, financial loss to the company balance sheet, and third-party liabilities. This includes various risk financing techniques, including commercial insurance, captive and self-insurance programs, and contractual risk transfers to third parties.
Responsibilities
This role is as a member of the Risk Management team reporting to Manager, Global Risk Management to support various department goals and objectives. Following is a summary of the role:
- Collects, prepares and analyzes risk exposure data for various property and casualty insurance policies, including day-to-day management of the property and medical malpractice programs with multiple broker contacts and internal contacts
- Becomes a subject matter expert as respects to the Risk Management Information System
- Creates loss experience reports using the Risk Management Information System on a scheduled and ad hoc basis
- Processes invoices, manages vendor payment profiles, and updates cash flow and accrual forecasts for Treasury and Accounting on a monthly basis
- Supports captive insurance administration, including premium allocations and claim reimbursements
- Recommends and implements process improvements and improves written procedure documentation
- Completes assignments for risk management projects, including quarterly and annual internal and external audits, integration of acquired companies, insurance premium audits, and special projects
- Supports large batch and/or integrated occurrence casualty claim documentation
- Supports CAH’s international footprint from a Property Insurance perspective, collaborating with the Casualty Insurance team member
- Provides back-up support when other Global Risk Management team members are out of the office
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience, preferred
- 4+ years of Risk Management, underwriting, brokerage, or related experience, preferred, with a preference of medical office insurance experience
- ARM, CPCU, or other related risk/insurance designations, preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning and organization skills; attention to detail while balancing multiple deadlines
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Expert or Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with occasional in-office meetings
- Risk Management Information System experience is a plus
Anticipated salary range: $79,700-$113,800
