As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.What You’ll Do: <ul><li>Partner with Sr. Product Owner(s) to develop product vision and strategy and align product vision with technology strategy</li><li>Independently oversee the design process for an application</li><li>Coach other engineers to develop product quality strategy including nonfunctional requirements, such as reliability, availability, and security</li><li>Demonstrate a deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks</li><li>Train others in solution design patterns</li><li>Coach internal technology communities and actively research and learn modern technologies and patterns</li><li>Create and maintain big-picture design view of product portfolio</li><li>Design and document solutions that meet business needs</li><li>Conduct feasibility analysis, product comparison, capability mapping, and high level project estimations</li><li>Apply architecture development processes to align with organization requirements</li><li>Create requirements and architectural specifications, functionality, and integration with new and existing systems.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree</li><li>At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)</li><li>At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>8+ Years of experience with Software Development, Software Engineering, or Technical Architecture</li><li>Experience in architecture and design for debit card transaction processing applications and banking industry payment networks</li><li>Experience with ISO8583 message formats</li><li>Experience building high performing, scalable systems that adapt and grow to customer needs</li><li>Understanding of technology evaluation process</li><li>Experience with modern development practices such as CI/CD, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and microservices</li><li>Knowledge of API, Application integration patterns</li></ul>At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, E-2, E-3, L-1 and O-1, or any EADs or other forms of work authorization that require immigration support from an employer).The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
