Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. In this role, youll be responsible for leading a diverse, fully remote team of full-time employees and contractors, focusing on building a high-performance culture, driving technical innovation, and ensuring the delivery of robust e-commerce software solutions. Youll collaborate closely with QA, product managers, enterprise IT, and business stakeholders to ensure our products are delivered on time and at a high level of quality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Leadership and Performance Management

    • Manage a cross-functional team of software developers, including both full-time employees and contractors

    • Develop and implement performance management strategies that motivate and inspire technical talent

    • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and clear career development pathways

    • Create and maintain a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy team environment

  • Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance

    • Assess and optimize developer throughput and productivity

    • Implement robust code review processes and quality standards

    • Monitor and evaluate team performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement

    • Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, architecture, and design principles

  • Mentorship and Professional Development

    • Provide direct mentorship to junior developers, fostering their technical growth and career progression

    • Create structured learning and development programs

    • Establish mentorship frameworks that enable knowledge sharing across the team

    • Support junior developers in skill enhancement and career trajectory planning

  • Strategic Planning and Execution

    • Collaborate with product management and other engineering leaders to define technical strategy

    • Break down complex projects into manageable work streams

    • Align team objectives with broader organizational goals

    • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables

  • Cultural Transformation

    • Drive the evolution of the engineering teams performance culture

    • Implement agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices

What You’ll Need to Have for the Role:

  • 8+ years of software development and technical leadership experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing both full-time and contract teams

  • Proven track record of leading high-performing software engineering teams

  • Strong background in e-commerce, web applications, or related technology domains

  • Expert-level understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical talent

  • Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in modern web technologies and e-commerce platforms

    • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

    • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns

    • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices

Pay Range:

$166,300.00-$249,400.00 Annual
