The role is a multi-faceted position encapsulating understanding of RF designs and test infrastructure development to support testability features in the platform. This includes automation using Python, PyQt, QTest, Boost and C++. This will involve understanding of RF IC and module design flows,  software debugging, test performance optimization, Memory profiling, test coverage and creating GUI based testability features with layout/schematic editors and system simulators in VSRF as well as interoperability features with Package and Board design using Virtuoso and Allegro design platforms. R&amp;D engineers collaborate with a large team of EDA professionals across multiple geographical regions to create and deliver best in class RF Design analysis and implementation features in VSRF. R&amp;D engineers work on complicated applications and interface them with other Cadence products and platforms in a large suite of highly connected modules to enable next-generation solutions for RF design with superior performance and usability. R&amp;D engineers develop code that satisfies the requirements for successful semiconductor design deployment. As R&amp;D Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging and implementing complex projects. You will have a chance to contribute to the high-end products for RF Design analysis in the EDA industry and your work will be visible through billions of electronic devices deployed worldwide.Job Responsibilities:As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the following software engineering activities:<ul><li>Write specifications which capture the high-level functional as well as low-level design specifications from the customers’ requirements. </li><li>Write product requirement, functional and design specifications for test and product features.</li><li>Write, automate and maintain unit tests and other tests as needed for implemented features and enhancements.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and conduct peer code reviews.</li><li>Work with PE (Product Engineering) and PV (Product Validation) to review code quality and coverage of requested functionality.</li><li>Test and validate code fixes as requested by bug tracking system.</li><li>This person should have personality &amp; communication skills for working within the R&amp;D group, and with cross functional groups across the R&amp;D.</li><li>This person should be able to work independently, being able to collaborate remotely with team members outside of Ireland </li></ul>Job Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Electrical or Electronics engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience <ul><li>Masters in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics with 2+ years of relevant experience</li></ul></li><li>Strong Python skills </li><li>Cmake, git(hub)</li><li>Static checkers, Memory profilers</li><li>Linux as a development platform</li></ul>Additional Skills/Preferences:                      <ul><li>GUI development using Qt/PyQt framework</li><li>Microsoft Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code </li><li>C++ 17 or later</li><li>Experience with IC design and analysis CAD tools</li></ul>Additional Information:Cadence is committed to equal employment opportunity and employment equity throughout all levels of the organization.
