A Newsroom Editor will also work as a team member performing any and all functions necessary for the successful operation of Newsroom Operations as determined by departmental management. </span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>Available shift:</span></div><div><b>Mon-Fri 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM CST</b></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><h3>What You Will Do </h3><ul><li>Standard duties for all Newsroom Editors may include any or all of the following (other duties may be assigned by departmental management):</li><li>Format, edit and proofread press releases on a computer quickly and accurately</li><li>Code each release based on a client’s request for distribution, suggest additional or alternative circuits that may be beneficial to the client and talk to them about conflicting distribution instructions</li><li>Contact clients regarding any problems that could lead to errors (grammar or punctuation mistakes, typos, missing contact information, etc.)</li><li>Assess the authenticity of press release orders and escalate potentially problematic content appropriately</li><li>Display good judgment in helping to resolve issues</li><li>Monitor incoming orders and ensure that all are accounted for and handled in a timely fashion</li><li>Monitor online to ensure successful transmission of content</li><li>Assist other Newsroom teams with overflow of orders as necessary</li><li>Perform opening/closing or other shift-change duties as necessary</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Business Wire products, services, procedures and policies</li><li> Assist with incoming phone calls, including fielding client questions regarding distribution options, and answering other general questions</li><li>Help guide clients through the process of submitting orders to Business Wire, including how to use the Business Wire website</li><li>Provide membership information and set up new accounts when the situation is approved and appropriate</li><li> Collaborate with sales and other departments as necessary</li><li> Communicate all technical issues to the Service Desk or Web Support teams in a timely and detailed fashion</li><li>Authorize credit card payments when necessary </li><li>Run and submit the daily distribution report to the billing department by set deadline</li><li>Maintain a log of daily activity</li></ul><h3>What You Will Need </h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills</li><li>Ability to work effectively with a variety of people in a team environment</li><li>Ability to multitask, prioritize workflow, and follow projects through to completion under tight deadlines</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to exercise good judgment</li><li>Basic technical skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in standard business applications (i.e., MS Word and Excel; Web, etc.)</li><li>Must demonstrate reliability through good attendance and punctuality</li><li>Courteous and professional phone manner</li><li>Professional demeanor</li><li>Must be flexible with schedule, as needed</li><li><b>Business Wire will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.</b></li><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>What We Offer</b></div><li>The rate range for this position is $20/hour to $24/hour.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.</li><div>Business Wire’s total rewards include:</div><li>Ability to work remotely</li><li>Excellent health benefits that begin on your first day of employment</li><li>$100 monthly fitness allotment, a tuition reimbursement program, and enhanced mental health resources</li><li>401(k) plan with generous company match, and annual profit sharing contribution (subject to company performance)</li><li>PTO, Floating Holidays, Wellness Day Off, Birthday Day Off, and more!</li></ul><div><b>A pre-employment background check will be required after the acceptance of an offer.                                             </b>Business Wire is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
