Built is on the lookout for a skilled Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Services team. Our mission is to drive scalability and reusability across the organization by delivering robust, reusable services that enable teams to move faster and build more efficiently. We envision a powerful platform foundation—complete with well-documented, modular APIs—that allows teams to seamlessly integrate shared services into any product or solution.
As an Engineering Manager, youll be at the forefront of this vision, guiding a team responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical services that are scalable, secure, and reliable. About the Team
The Tenant Enablement team plays a key role in the success and growth of the Built Platform. This team is responsible for enabling tenant management, user management, and handling authentication and authorization services.

- AWS (EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cognito),TypeScript, Python, Node.js, React, NestJS, REST, GraphQL, Kafka, MySQL, Snowflake, Temporal
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of software engineers focused on platform service delivery
- Champion continuous improvement and raise the technical and operational bar across the organization
- Drive the architectural vision and execution of secure, scalable, and reliable platform services
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to identify reusable features and abstract them into shared services
- Continuously evaluate and improve platform offerings to align with evolving business and customer needs
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, UX, Support, Sales, and Marketing to align on priorities and roadmap
Requirements:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineering teams
- A strong technical foundation in modern software development practices and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- A data-driven mindset with a focus on metrics and measurable impact
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly valued
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with development frameworks such as Python or Node.js
- 2+ years of experience designing or developing resource-based access control systems
- Experience building internal or external-facing APIs as part of a Platform Services offering
- Proven ability to influence and drive adoption of shared services within engineering teams
Built’s salary range for this position is $185,000-$225,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Builts total compensation package for employees.
