You will be a hands-on technical leader, leading our Product Partnerships team, and contributing to the architecture, scalability, and performance of critical data services, products, and pipelines at Braze. Your responsibilities will include: <ul> <li>Architect &amp; Build: Conceive, design, and implement large-scale systems and services that handle massive data volumes and complex workloads in real time</li> <li>Mentor &amp; Influence: Lead by example and mentor engineers on best practices in software design, coding, and operations. </li> <li>Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure data systems are effectively integrated and aligned with business objectives.</li> <li>Innovate &amp; Optimize: Continuously identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our data platforms. Research new technologies and advocate for their adoption where appropriate</li> <li>Maintain &amp; Evolve: Help create and refine operational procedures (alerts, on-call rotation, troubleshooting playbooks) to maximize system stability and quality.</li> </ul> <h4>WHO YOU ARE</h4> <ul> <li>Extensive Software Engineering Experience: 7+ years of professional experience, including hands-on work in full-stack development or back-end services, particularly with high-scale, high-throughput systems</li> <li>Systems at Scale: Proven track record of building foundational data-driven systems at scale—whether streaming, real-time pipelines, or large-scale analytical platforms</li> <li>Technical Leadership: Skilled at driving architectural direction, scoping large efforts, and effectively managing technical debt. Known for precise communication of complex technical concepts and a willingness to drive major technical initiatives</li> <li>Bonus Skills: <ul> <li>Languages/Frameworks: Familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and React</li> <li>Database Experience: Previous experience with MongoDB, Snowflake (or other Datalake solutions)</li> <li>Cloud Technologies: Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), managed streaming platforms (Confluent/Kafka), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).</li> </ul> </li> </ul> For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $173,400 and $282,540/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $204,000 and $332,400/year (including bonus or commission).
