You will bring strategic leadership and deep technical expertise across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that support bp’s global data needs.You will lead a dynamic team of engineers and product managers, collaborating with technology and business leaders to define platform vision, enable data-driven innovation, and deliver measurable impact across the organization.Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Architect and implement secure, scalable enterprise data platform solutions and security frameworks.</li><li>Lead the end-to-end security and compliance of bp’s unified data platform, aligned with industry and regulatory standards.</li><li>Drive operational excellence by optimizing platform performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience.</li><li>Spearhead modernization and automation of platform services, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise IT systems.</li><li>Define and enforce platform governance, risk management strategies, and global security policies.</li><li>Develop and manage automated systems for monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and identity access management (IAM).</li><li>Champion the adoption of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g., AWS CDK, Azure Bicep).</li><li>Enhance disaster recovery and high-availability strategies across all data services.</li><li>Collaborate with internal technology teams and external vendors to align technical solutions with business objectives.</li><li>Mentor engineering teams, promoting innovation, skill development, and technical excellence.</li><li>Guide long-term platform investment strategies, including cybersecurity risk mitigation and roadmap planning.</li><li>Work with senior technical leaders to develop a scalable, efficient, and forward-thinking platform architecture.</li><li>Coordinate cross-functional priorities and deliver platform strategies that scale across bp’s global footprint.</li></ul>What You’ll BringQualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>Extensive experience in enterprise data platforms, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure operations.</li><li>Strong hands-on proficiency in C# and Python.</li><li>Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as AWS CDK or Azure Bicep.</li><li>Strong knowledge of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and enterprise IT governance.</li><li>Programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala.</li><li>Experience with modern data and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).</li><li>Strong foundation in SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and data lake architectures.</li></ul>Core Technical Skills<ul><li>Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Databricks, and Palantir.</li><li>Proven experience in building secure, scalable data ingestion pipelines, governance models, and visualization platforms.</li><li>Ability to design and optimize large-scale, multi-cloud data platforms, balancing cost, performance, and resilience.</li><li>Experience with real-time and batch data streaming architectures.</li><li>Skilled in tuning distributed query engines and managing data indexing for performance optimization.</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>Demonstrated success operating platforms within globally regulated environments.</li><li>Working knowledge of compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, or PCI-DSS.</li><li>Familiarity with AI/ML-powered data engineering and intelligent automation to optimize operations.</li></ul>Why join our team?At bp, we provide an excellent working environment and employee benefits such as an open and inclusive culture, a great work-life balance, tremendous learning and development opportunities to craft your career path, life and health insurance, medical care package and many others.We support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment.
