Additive Manufacturing TechnologistKey Role:Plan, organize, and lead technical projects and phases of projects involving the design and development of new and improved products and processes. Analyze alternatives with a deep awareness of industry trends, leading companies, and leading consortium, university, and international laboratory activities. Serve as a technical lead on additive product development projects. Apply additive design tools, and generative design concepts specific to design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) using standard commercial software. Collaborate with engineering teams and material scientists to identify and drive projects to enable increased usage of DfAM by facilitating communication and sharing best practices. Lead and guide team members and business unit teams in work verification. Support the integration of new additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, and research and introduce promising technologies to the AM support communities.Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in the manufacturing technologies field</li><li>Experience in the interpretation of CAD drawings, required post-processing requirements, and material requirements</li><li>Knowledge of CAD and FEA</li><li>Knowledge of engineering systems, processes, controls, and quality best practices</li><li>Ability to obtain a Secret clearance</li><li>Bachelor’s degree</li></ul>Additional Qualifications:<ul><li>2+ years of experience with AM software packages, including simulation, slicing, and packing</li><li>2+ years of experience operating various AM machines and related post-processing equipment</li><li>2+ years of experience with CAD software and modeling</li><li>Experience drafting and releasing Standard Operating Procedures</li><li>Experience with leadership positions in design engineering, with a focus on AM</li><li>Experience providing technical expertise and feedback of CAD drawings, including new material selection and determination of heat treatment conditions and processes</li><li>Experience designing products for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) or Direct Energy Deposition (DED)</li><li>Knowledge of all mechanical engineering standards, material specifications, and participation in industry consortiums</li><li>Bachelors degree in a related field</li></ul>Clearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).
