Senior Hybrid Cloud Systems AdministratorCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company’s Specialized United States Infrastructure organization is currently seeking a Senior Hybrid Cloud Systems Administrator to join the team in Hazelwood, MO. This role is centered on delivering technical leadership and project support for strategic, enterprise-level hybrid cloud hosting environments, primarily catering to initiatives within the Boeing Defense, Space &amp; Security (BDS) business unit.An ideal candidate will recognize the value of collaboration, as this position involves direct engagement with program customers and the Information Technology operations team to manage and support operations, sustainment, and integration activities for proprietary customer programs.Position Responsibilities:<ul><li>Build and maintain information systems in compliance with JSIG/RMF security requirements, including hardware and software installation, network configuration, and troubleshooting</li><li>Administer RedHat 7 and higher environments, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct monthly server patching</li><li>Utilize vulnerability scanners like ACAS/Nessus and manage distributed file systems</li><li>Maintain and organize the server room and data center, ensuring proper installation, tidy cabling, spare parts management, and inventory updates</li><li>Document the existing environment, including server inventory, operating systems, connectivity diagrams, and create standard operating procedures for system administration tasks</li><li>Mentor junior team members and provide leadership, while diagnosing and resolving performance issues related to CPU, memory, and disk</li><li>Open support tickets with vendors for system component failures, coordinate downtime with application owners, and perform necessary replacements</li><li>Provide day-to-day support for ticket requests, including DNS entries, filesystem storage increases, user account requests, and performance tuning</li><li>Support the backup environment through software upgrades, daily log reviews, and failure resolution to ensure smooth operations</li></ul>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):<ul><li>3+ years of experience with IT Infrastructure Server, Systems Integration and Operations</li><li>3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and hybrid tools like Azure Stack or Azure Arc</li><li>3+ years of experience with on-premises systems, including servers, virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and basic data center management</li><li>3+ years of experience in designing, implementing and supporting wide area network/local area network environments</li><li>3+ years of experience developing automation testing &amp; maintaining automation tools</li><li>3+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):<ul><li>5+ years of experience with RedHat-based systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Fedora) and SUSE distro 12 or greater (e.g., DataDomain, vProxy)</li><li>5+ years of experience in designing and implementing IT security systems, troubleshooting operating system and installation issues, and administering user system access to meet network security requirements</li><li>3+ years of experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware, and managing virtualized environments, as well as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems and desktop operating systems.</li><li>Experience with iLOs and applying RMF guidelines for compliance, along with using metrics to measure project performance for quality delivery</li><li>Experience with Linux file structures and</li><li>Experience with developing PowerShell and Linux scripts for hardware integration, automating OS deployment and configuration, and creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers</li></ul>Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay &amp; Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
