We are seeking a Chief Architect – Engineering and Logistics to join our team of skilled Architects. This role will primarily focus on leading technical governance and the delivery of a significant programme of work for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the Engineering and Logistics domain.Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working, at the discretion of the management team.  Primary ResponsibilitiesAs part of your role, your duties and responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Providing technical leadership driving collaboration with customers and partners, driving the strategy for MOD Information Systems (Logistics and Engineering Systems).</li><li>Serving as the primary technical leader for the programme, eliciting user needs related to business processes, environments, operating modes, standards, regulations, and legislation. </li><li>Ensuring that design and testing regimes effectively verify and validate these user needs.</li><li>Inspire and motivate team members by creating a shared vision and fostering a sense of purpose.</li><li>Cultivate a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and recognizing achievements.</li><li>Planning and overseeing activities necessary to deliver products and services, ensuring all functional and non-functional requirements are met while addressing product integrity and safety.</li><li>Chairing Team Boeing Change Boards, assessing and managing changes to requirements baselines, including customer trade-offs.</li><li>Reviewing and authorizing design baselines, chairing Solution Coherence Forums, and ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.</li><li>Establish and enforce technical governance frameworks to ensure compliance, security, and best practices in technology implementation.</li><li>Monitor and assess technology risks, ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate them.</li><li>Reviewing and authorizing Maritime, Land, and Air Certificates of Design in support of reviews and Entry into Service.</li><li>Ensuring the integrity and safety of all Engineering and Logistics programme products and services.    </li><li>Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and you will be required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.</li></ul>Preferred Person Specification<ul><li>Proven track record of delivering business value from technology within the Defence Industry, either by aiding customers in developing and governing their enterprise architecture or by providing innovative solution architecture in response to specific business needs.</li><li>A proven Technology Leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse teams.</li><li>A passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee experience through technology.</li><li>Extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Technology / Engineering Leader within the Defence sector.</li><li>Proficient in designing and implementing SAP ERP and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) systems.</li><li>In-depth understanding of MOD maintenance, equipment, and engineering processes.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of MOD, DEFSTAN / JSP standards.</li><li>Self-starter with experience working in a matrix organization, capable of discussing ideas and concepts with staff at all levels.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, partners, vendors, and project sponsors.</li><li>Experience in applying consultancy approaches and techniques.</li><li>Proficient in business case development and investment appraisal.</li><li>Familiarity with a range of delivery methods, including waterfall, agile, and DevOps.</li><li>Demonstrable experience with leading Cloud Deployed COTS / MOTS Services. </li></ul>Becoming a Boeing Defence UK EmployeeAs a Boeing Defence UK employee, you’ll have the freedom to choose a healthy work-life balance through flexible working arrangements and incentive programmes, and you’ll have access to a range of resources and tools to support your professional growth, health, and wellbeing.The Boeing benefits package goes above and beyond, focusing on your physical, emotional, financial, and social wellbeing.
