What is Aladdin?
You will be working on internal tools built for private credit asset class and additionally you will be working on BlackRocks investment operating system called Aladdin. Aladdin is used both internally within BlackRock and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading, and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making and create connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide.
Our development teams reside inside the Aladdin Engineering group. We collaboratively build the next generation of technology that changes the way information, people, and technology intersect for global investment firms. We build and package tools that manage trillions of assets and support millions of financial instruments. We perform risk calculations and process millions of transactions for thousands of users every day worldwide!
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high efficiency, high availability and scalable software systems that integrate with external systems.
- Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and user acceptance testing, dev ops and production support.
- Review the code of your colleagues and offer constructive feedback to uphold code quality, adhere to standard processes, and encourage knowledge transfer.
- Participate in feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
- Manage software releases and support software features launches.
- Understand the production environment and help triage production issues.
- Collaborate with global teams across different offices.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and diversity within the team.
Qualifications:
- B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area
- 3+ years of software experience in a commercial capacity
Skills and Experience required:
- 3+ years of experience in software development using Python and strong knowledge of Pandas Data Frame.
- Experience in Java, C# development is a huge bonus
- Experience in designing, implementing and using APIs.
- Working experience with relational databases such as Sybase and MSSQL
- Working experience with non-relational databases including Snowflake and Cassandra
- Great analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic about learning and applying new technologies.

Our hybrid work model

Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
