About this roleWe are looking for an engineer to join the Production Engineering team, working within the Aladdin Platform Group. A person who has a passion for technical troubleshooting, learning new technology tools and improving new procedures &amp; processes. This role involves identifying trends and being a problem solver with a proven aptitude for quickly learning new technologies and proprietary systems. You will be a technical product expert during customer implementation projects, organize and implement the system deployment plans, while automating software integration and developing reports in compliance with applicable project requirements.We have a broad and diverse skillset and are seeking a new team member to join us who will bring something additive and different. If you have a background in supporting critical applications and a track record in outstanding service delivery, we would love to speak to you!Role Responsibility:<ul><li>Build, update, and maintain tooling to deploy, upgrade, monitor, and maintain infrastructure hosted in AWS and Azure.</li><li>Designing, implementing, and working with automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure.</li><li>Developing or modifying scripts to automate tasks and meet business requirements.</li><li>Contribute to a library of software that enables the smooth operation of BlackRock products.</li><li>Help to suggest and design both short-term and long-term engineering solutions to improve existing operational workflows.</li><li>Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their roles and requirements and clearly communicate with them on progress, challenges, and questions.</li><li>Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit and regression testing, and level two production support for owned tools.</li><li>Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment.</li></ul>Skills/Qualifications:<ul><li>A degree specializing in Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar.</li><li>3 - 5 years of industry experience in an engineering role.</li><li>Experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, group policies, IIS, and ADFS.</li><li>Experience in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell, including respective testing modules.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries.</li><li>Exposure to and understanding of cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure, including knowledge of their respective APIs for provisioning and monitoring.</li><li>Understanding of Agile work environments, including knowledge of Azure DevOps, GIT and CI/CD.</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Ability to work with teams across geography.</li><li>Create and deliver best practices recommendations, documentation for internal wiki pages, and presentations.</li></ul>Good to have:<ul><li>Experience with Linux server environments.</li><li>Experience with Kubernetes environments.</li><li>Previous experience working in the Financial Services or Technology industry.</li></ul>Our benefitsTo help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.Our hybrid work modelBlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
