In this role, you will play a critical part in the full development lifecycle, from concept to production, of innovative wearable devices that improve patients lives.</div><h3>What you will be doing</h3><ul><li><b>Electrical Design:</b></li><li>Design and develop schematics and PCB layouts for wearable medical devices.</li><li>Component selection and sourcing, considering power consumption, size constraints, and reliability.</li><li>Collaborate with mechanical engineers on integration and packaging of electronics within wearable form factors.</li><li>Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to medical device industry standards (e.g., IEC 60601).</li><div><br /></div><li><b>Firmware Development:</b></li><li>Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded systems within wearable devices.</li><li>Implement communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi) for data transfer and connectivity.</li><li>Develop drivers for various sensors and peripherals.</li><li>Optimize firmware for low power consumption and real-time performance.</li><div><br /></div><li><b>Board Bring-Up and Verification:</b></li><li>Perform board bring-up activities, including debugging hardware and initial firmware loading.</li><li>Develop and execute test plans to verify electrical and firmware functionality.</li><li>Conduct hardware and firmware verification to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.</li><div><br /></div><li><b>Design life Cycle:</b></li><li>Support end-to-end development from concept, design, integration and end of life of devices.</li><li>Develop and maintain documentation in accordance with QMS and Medical Device regulations.</li><li>Develop content and support traceability of User Needs, Design Inputs, Design Outputs, Verifications and Validations.</li><li>Support Risk Analysis and FMEA creation for both hardware and software.</li><li>Drive testing and certifications in compliance with applicable standards.</li></ul><h3>What you need </h3><ul><li>Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>4+ years of experience in electrical and firmware development for embedded systems.</li><li>Proven experience in designing and developing wearable devices, ideally in the medical or healthcare domain.</li><li>Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.</li><li>Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle).</li><li>Excellent C/C++ programming skills for embedded systems.</li><li>Experience with communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and I2C/SPI.</li><li>Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus.</li><li>Experience with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601) is highly desirable.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li></ul><div><u><b>Company Culture and Benefits</b></u></div><div><br /></div><div><span>Our Workplace Culture:</span></div><div><span>We’re a dynamic remote-first environment, with offices in Golden, CO and Redwood City, CA and a talented, motivated team of colleagues globally.
