In this role, you’ll contribute to the full backend development lifecycle - from designing robust server-side logic and APIs to building scalable, high-performance systems. You’ll work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver meaningful features at scale. We’re looking for someone with strong technical foundations, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for quality who’s ready to grow, contribute, and make a difference every day. <h2>Your responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Develop Backend Features: Design, implement, and maintain features across our backend (Java, Python) systems, ensuring a seamless user experience.</li> <li>Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, QA, and DevOps engineers to deliver thoughtful, user-focused solutions.</li> <li>Ensure Reliability and Scalability: Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that meets high standards for performance, security, and reliability.</li> <li>Support Engineering Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, contribute to documentation, and help uphold team-wide practices around testing and maintainability.</li> <li>Optimize System Performance: Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot performance issues across the stack to maintain responsiveness under scale.</li> <li>Contribute to Technical Discussions: Engage in architectural and technical discussions, and provide constructive input to help guide design decisions.</li> <li>Take Ownership of Your Code: Support the features and services you build, including participating in on-call rotations when needed and handling operational responsibilities.</li> </ul> <h2>What we look for in you</h2> <ul> <li>Backend Development Experience: 3+ years building cloud-based applications with solid skills in backend (Java &amp; Python preferred)</li> <li>Modern Infrastructure Familiarity: Practical experience deploying applications using Kubernetes in AWS or GCP environments.</li> <li>Quality-Focused Engineering: A strong eye for clean, maintainable code with solid testing practices and performance awareness.</li> <li>Collaborative Mindset: Effective communication skills, a willingness to share knowledge, and a proactive approach to teamwork and continuous learning.</li> <li>Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate effectively in an international team.</li> </ul> <h2>Bonus Points</h2> <ul> <li>Exposure to AI/ML: Familiarity with AI, prompt engineering, or integration of LLMs.</li> <li>DevOps &amp; Infrastructure: Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Spacelift, and observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.</li> <li>B2B/SaaS Experience: History of shipping software in a SaaS environment.</li> </ul> <h2>Our Technology Stack</h2> <ul> <li>Cloud Infrastructure as Code: We operate on AWS and GCP across multiple regions, managing our infrastructure with Spacelift and Terraform.</li> <li>Container Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS and GKE) orchestrates our containerized services, configured with Helm and FluxCD.</li> <li>Backend Services: Predominantly built in Java (Quarkus) and Python, with a focus on high performance and scalability.</li> <li>Event-Driven Architecture: Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ power our messaging and event-driven flows.</li> <li>Databases: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MySQL, and Elasticsearch serve our diverse data storage needs.</li> <li>Monitoring &amp; Logging: We rely on Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack for observability and performance insights.</li> <li>AI Integration: We are continuously exploring new AI technologies to enhance our platform and internal workflows.</li> </ul> <h2>What we offer</h2> <ul> <li>Hybrid work model - 2 days in the office, 3 days remote</li> <li>RTT days - approx. 10 additional days off per year</li> <li>Meal vouchers (Swile) + free snacks and coffee</li> <li>Health insurance (Alan) – 60% covered, plus full coverage for provident insurance</li> <li>Afterworks, team celebrations, and seasonal events</li> <li>Equipment of your choice</li> <li>French and English lessons, professional development, and access to the CSE Leeto</li> </ul> Join us and help shape the future of frontline work.
