The client base is comprised of Canadian investment dealers, financial market infrastructure providers, Domestic and International Banks.</p><p></p><p>As a senior member of the GFIG team, the successful candidate will take a lead role in client relationship management, first-line risk management, mentorship, coaching and developing the team. The candidate will coordinate with other product areas as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. Leads the deal team in executing pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize sector penetration and returns.</p></li><li><p>Develops and maintains strong client relationships with decision makers.</p></li><li><p>Provides clients with impactful strategic advice.  Acts as a trusted advisor.</p></li><li><p>Collaborates with sector and product partners to generate ideas, identify client solutions, pursue sector marketing efforts, cover clients, and deliver timely solutions.</p></li><li><p>Leads and owns the credit, legal, operational, reputational, and all other risks as part of managing the portfolio of facilities deployed to support the Banks and Market Structure sector</p></li><li><p>Balances the Banks risk appetite with the client needs in making recommendations/proposals.</p></li><li><p>Makes decisions based on a strong understanding of risks; effectively evaluates risk-return trade-offs, and proactively takes accountability for risks assumed.</p></li><li><p>Ensures that bank policies and guidelines applicable to the division are complied with.</p></li><li><p>Monitors client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s portfolio and business needs.</p></li><li><p>Prepares credit documentation (i.e. including applications, memoranda, presentations, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Provides outstanding deal structuring, business development, and other expertise and negotiates transactions with clients on highly complex deals.</p></li><li><p>Acts as the primary contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators.</p></li><li><p>Completes due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships. May includes client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><p>Typically, 15+ years of relevant Banks and Market Structure experience in a Corporate &amp; Investment Banking or Capital Markets environment.</p></li><li><p>Excellent knowledge of the Banks and Markets Structure industry.</p></li><li><p>Proven and independently verifiable client relationships within the Banks and Markets Structure industry. Technical and strategic leader within the industry. </p></li><li><p>Successful history of structuring, leading and underwriting a wide variety of corporate recourse credit facilities to the sector and tailored for the respective business model and asset class. </p></li><li><p>Managerial, change management and leadership experience, preferably with a large, cross-border located team. </p></li><li><p>Undergraduate degree has focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred with high academic achievement.</p></li><li><p>MBA, CFA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting and legal fields</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Base salary for this role is $225,000 CAD.
