The client base is comprised of Canadian investment dealers, financial market infrastructure providers, Domestic and International Banks.As a senior member of the GFIG team, the successful candidate will take a lead role in client relationship management, first-line risk management, mentorship, coaching and developing the team. The candidate will coordinate with other product areas as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. Leads the deal team in executing pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize sector penetration and returns.</li><li>Develops and maintains strong client relationships with decision makers.</li><li>Provides clients with impactful strategic advice.  Acts as a trusted advisor.</li><li>Collaborates with sector and product partners to generate ideas, identify client solutions, pursue sector marketing efforts, cover clients, and deliver timely solutions.</li><li>Leads and owns the credit, legal, operational, reputational, and all other risks as part of managing the portfolio of facilities deployed to support the Banks and Market Structure sector</li><li>Balances the Banks risk appetite with the client needs in making recommendations/proposals.</li><li>Makes decisions based on a strong understanding of risks; effectively evaluates risk-return trade-offs, and proactively takes accountability for risks assumed.</li><li>Ensures that bank policies and guidelines applicable to the division are complied with.</li><li>Monitors client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s portfolio and business needs.</li><li>Prepares credit documentation (i.e. including applications, memoranda, presentations, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Provides outstanding deal structuring, business development, and other expertise and negotiates transactions with clients on highly complex deals.</li><li>Acts as the primary contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators.</li><li>Completes due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships. May includes client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Typically, 15+ years of relevant Banks and Market Structure experience in a Corporate &amp; Investment Banking or Capital Markets environment.</li><li>Excellent knowledge of the Banks and Markets Structure industry.</li><li>Proven and independently verifiable client relationships within the Banks and Markets Structure industry. Technical and strategic leader within the industry. </li><li>Successful history of structuring, leading and underwriting a wide variety of corporate recourse credit facilities to the sector and tailored for the respective business model and asset class. </li><li>Managerial, change management and leadership experience, preferably with a large, cross-border located team. </li><li>Undergraduate degree has focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred with high academic achievement.</li><li>MBA, CFA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting and legal fields</li></ul>Base salary for this role is $300,000 USD.
