As an AI/ML Engineer, your growing skills are at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. You’ll contribute to data-centric backend services, thoughtful abstractions and APIs, and interactive experiences such as conversational agents and interpretive tools. You will: <ul> <li>Code data-intensive software and algorithms</li> <li>Leverage platforms for driving intelligent decisions, interacting with machine learning models, and powering interactions such as conversational interfaces</li> <li>Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, data analysts, software engineers, IT specialists, and stakeholders to expand the effective use of AI applications</li> <li>Research and prove out new approaches and algorithms through prototypes</li> </ul> What You Need to Get the Job Done <ul> <li>2+ years of professional experience building data-centric software as a machine learning engineer, AI specialist, software-focused data scientist, or similar</li> <li>Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, AI agents, and vector databases</li> <li>Track record as an engineer building for production, ideally with machine learning algorithms, data-centric platform services, and stochastic systems</li> <li>Experience with languages including Python, Java, Clojure, and/or the ability to pick up new languages quickly</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to interface data repositories/caches / pipelines, message queues, ML models, LLMs, and other services in cloud environments, especially AWS</li> <li>Skill collaborating using cloud-based tooling, git, notebooks, and ML workflows </li> </ul> A strong contender will also demonstrate: <ul> <li>Affinity for writing clean code</li> <li>Intuitive grasp of LLM capabilities and limitations</li> <li>Understanding of machine learning evaluation methods and experiment design</li> <li>Creative problem solving and root cause analysis abilities</li> <li>Initiative to dive into intimidating technical problems and unfamiliar paradigms</li> <li>Interest in keeping up with emerging techniques</li> <li>Participation in team processes and AIOps</li> <li>Productive interactions that lift the team and stakeholders</li> </ul> Beyond the technical skills, we’re looking for individuals who are: <ul> <li>Clear communicators (verbal and written)</li> <li>Able to synthesize patterns and useful abstractions</li> <li>Conversant in underlying data structures, math, and algorithms</li> <li>Productive in a dynamic setting</li> <li>At BambooHR, we believe in leveraging cutting-edge technology to empower people and transform HR.
