Overview Were a fast-moving startup seeking an experienced UI Artist to join our team and help shape the visual interface of our mobile game. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mobile game UI/UX, particularly with real-time combat systems and complex gameplay mechanics. This role requires someone who thrives in a startup environment—comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats while maintaining high-quality output Responsibilities <ul> <li>Design and implement intuitive, visually appealing UI elements for mobile platforms, with focus on touch-based interactions</li> <li>Create UI systems that support real-time combat, party/character switching, and complex mobile game mechanics</li> <li>Develop and maintain a comprehensive UI style guide that ensures visual consistency across all game features</li> <li>Collaborate with game designers to create UI flows that enhance gameplay and user experience</li> <li>Optimize UI assets for mobile performance while maintaining visual quality</li> <li>Prototype and iterate on UI concepts based on user testing and team feedback</li> <li>Work closely with developers to ensure proper implementation of UI designs</li> <li>Adapt quickly to changing priorities and pivot designs based on evolving game requirements</li> <li>Contribute to multiple areas beyond UI when needed (marketing materials, pitch decks, etc.)</li> </ul> Requirements <ul> <li>3+ years of experience as a UI Artist in mobile game development</li> <li>Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile game UI work, particularly for games with real-time combat systems</li> <li>Proven experience working in startup or small studio environments</li> <li>Experience with games featuring party systems, character switching, or similar complex mechanics</li> <li>Proficiency in industry-standard tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Unity/Unreal UI systems)</li> <li>Deep understanding of mobile UX principles, touch interfaces, and screen size considerations</li> <li>Ability to create and maintain comprehensive style guides and design systems</li> <li>Self-directed work style with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions independently</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions</li> <li>Comfort with rapid prototyping and iterative development processes</li> <li>Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and adjust course as needed</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Experience working on games similar to Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact, or other action RPGs with real-time combat</li> <li>Knowledge of Asian mobile game design trends and monetization UI patterns</li> <li>Experience with gacha systems, character collection, or equipment management interfaces</li> <li>Familiarity with gesture-based controls and haptic feedback design</li> <li>Understanding of UI animation and motion design principles</li> <li>Experience leading UI initiatives or mentoring other artists</li> <li>Track record of shipping products in resource-constrained environments</li> <li>Experience building processes and pipelines from scratch</li> </ul> The perks of working at Azra <ul> <li>Competitive salary &amp; equity </li> <li>Platinum healthcare plan for you and your family 💯 paid for by Azra Games.
