As a software engineer on the metrics team, you will join a collaborative team of Rust engineers. You will help build the future of metrics at Axiom while working with cutting-edge technologies in a globally full-remote environment Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Design and implement various components of our metrics product, from ingestion to storage to querying</li> <li>Write high-quality, performant Rust code</li> <li>Collaborate in design discussions and provide thoughtful code reviews</li> <li>Maintain and improve codebase health and system performance</li> <li>Work with cross-functional teams to roll out joint features</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments</li> <li>Help build a robust, scalable metrics platform running on AWS and Kubernetes</li> <li>Occasionally, work with customers to discover new requirements or provide support</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li>2+ years experience with the Rust programming language</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, strong collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach</li> <li>Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects</li> <li>Experience with code review processes and collaborative development</li> </ul> Nice to Have: <ul> <li>Located in the European Union OR availability to overlap at least 4 hours with EU working hours (9:00-17:00 CET)</li> <li>Active participation in open-source communities</li> <li>Experience in the observability space</li> <li>Background in distributed systems or database technologies</li> <li>Knowledge of performance optimization techniques</li> <li>Familiarity with low-level protocol design</li> </ul>
