AVEVA is creating software trusted by over 90% of leading industrial companies.Job Title: Revenue Controller/ AnalystLocation: Tokyo, JapanEmployment Type: full-timeJob Summary The Revenue Controller has responsibility for the financial control of revenue contracts and Annualised Recurring Revenue (ARR) for all Japan operations.Reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager, the Revenue Controller is part of a small in-house commercial finance team which is supported by a shared service centre based in Kuala Lumpur. At AVEVA the commercial finance function has full ownership for the entity ledgers, revenue, accounting, tax, compliance, treasury and reporting.Good controllership of revenue at AVEVA means a focus on the accuracy of our data, thorough understanding of our commercial contracts and go-to-market methods, adherence to internal controls, timely reporting of results to Group, and engagement with the wider Finance Operations team to continuously improve our processes and controls.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue and ARR Management<ul><li>Manage and interface with the shared service centre and Order Entry function, taking full responsibility for the deliverables.</li><li>Keep up to date with Oracle functionality and process updates!</li><li>Develop and document revenue processes and controls, identify opportunities for improvement.</li><li>Reconciliation between Salesforce and ledgers for deals closed and revenue recognised.</li><li>Business partnering with Sales function and preparation of ARR &amp; Revenue forecast</li><li>Review of forecast ARR &amp; revenue against actuals and reporting of variance analysis</li></ul>Revenue and ARR accounting and assurance<ul><li>Responsible for the monthly revenue / ARR close cycle to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting and signoff.</li><li>Review of contract balances (contract assets, liabilities and debtors), ensuring that balances are accurate, and they represent true picture, and they unwind in accordance with forecast and IFRS 15 requirements.</li><li>Finance support for commercial deal review and structuring.</li><li>Review of large and complex contracts in accordance with IFRS15, and working with the Group Revenue team on areas of accounting complexity</li><li>Working on complex deal revenue recognition and writing of accounting papers</li><li>Analytical review of contract balances and revenue, providing analysis as required to Group.</li><li>Working closely with the Finance, sales and operations stakeholders to help them understand revenues booked in the local ledger.</li></ul>Compliance and Internal Control Adherence<ul><li>Ensuring compliance with the Group’s internal control framework, and enhancing those controls where necessary with reference to revenue</li><li>Preparation for internal audit and responding to requests.</li><li>External / Internal audit liaison and compliance</li><li>Reconciliation of revenue for per IFRS and Local GAAP</li><li>Reconciliation of Revenue with IFRS/ Local GAAP/ tax returns</li></ul>Other duties<ul><li>Any other accounting and finance tasks as required to support the Japan business operations.</li></ul>Finance at AVEVAOur team of almost 500 Finance professionals are central to AVEVA’s £1bn+ business.
