Reporting to the EMEA Tax Director, based in the UK, the role will have an international focus and a varied mix of compliance and advisory.This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Indirect Tax and regulations and experience in a multinational company environment, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and within the Global Tax Function.This is an exciting opportunity for career development and growth. Responsibilities<ul><li>Overseeing the in-house and outsourced global indirect tax compliance to ensure indirect tax returns are timely and complete, and any issues are visible and escalated.</li><li>Defining, implementing, and monitoring standards and policies to ensure adherence to global procedures, regional business requirements and statutory governmental regulations - to minimise liability and risk as well as identifying tax savings and efficiencies.</li><li>Lead research, interpretation of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the companys tax position.</li><li>A strong knowledge on implementing ERP changes with a clear focus on process automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.</li><li>Performing compliance risk and opportunity assessments and working with the relevant teams to ensure strong internal controls and governance processes are in place and up to date.</li><li>Supporting the wider international tax team with high profile and varied tax related projects including due diligence, restructuring and legal entity rationalisation.</li><li>Monitoring compliance with the group’s transfer pricing policy and business models and responding to ad hoc queries.</li><li>Managing enquiries and tax audits – liaising with both overseas tax authorities and statutory auditors.</li><li>Business partnering – being commercially aware and providing real-time tax support to the business for contract tenders and business models.</li><li>Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential tax legislation, regulations, rulings, procedures, and court decisions.</li><li>Assisting Tax, Finance and IT teams with technical development and support whilst identifying improvements for processes and systems, making the best use of technology.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Qualified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor</li><li>Experience in mid/large-tier practice or in-house tax function</li><li>Strong indirect tax knowledge and previous work experience within the Indirect tax arena</li><li>Mixed experience of compliance and advisory</li><li>Strong Excel skills</li><li>Model and champion AVEVA’s core values and competencies – Impact, Aspiration, Curiosity and Trust</li><li>Excellent Leadership and communication skills, with the ability to communicate tax topics in a clear and concise way to varied and non-tax colleagues and stakeholders</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, able to network and foster collaboration across international and cross functional teams and with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation</li><li>Self-starter, curious and open to learning in a growing blue-chip environment</li><li>Understanding of business models, and TP</li><li>Ability to anticipate, detect and communicate risk and assist with proactive problem-solving</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively</li><li>Experience with tax software and ERP systems</li><li>High level of integrity and professionalism</li></ul>UK Benefits include:  Flexible benefits fund, emergency leave days, adoption leave, 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension, life cover, private medical insurance, parental leave, education assistance program.It’s possible we’re hiring for this position in multiple countries, in which case the above benefits apply to the primary location.
