This is a high impact, VP-level leadership role within the Chief Technologist organization, focused on identifying and shaping the future of innovation at AVEVA. In this role, you will lead the investigation and analysis of emerging technology trends, monitor the venture and startup ecosystem, and set priorities for innovation and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a well-established network within the software and industrial startup community, and the ability to forecast and influence industry transformations.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Trend Analysis: Lead the analysis of emerging technology trends in key sectors relevant to AVEVA. Forecast how these sectors will evolve over the next 5-10 years.</li><li>Strategic Prioritization: Lead efforts, in collaboration with business and technical leaders across the company, to set priorities for technology innovation and development based on market dynamics, technological advancements, and strategic business goals.</li><li>Innovation Leadership: Identify cutting-edge technologies that can enhance our product offerings and operational efficiency.</li><li>Technical Reports: Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on research findings, trends, and recommendations. Communicate insights effectively to senior management and other stakeholders.</li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including emerging tech innovation, engineering, product management, and business development, to integrate technology trends into strategic plans.</li><li>Networking and Ecosystem Development: Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, technology vendors, the VC and start-up community, and research institutions to stay informed about the latest developments and opportunities.</li><li>Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of analysts and researchers. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology research, market analysis, or a related role. Experience working with industry analysts and a strong network in the venture and start-up community is highly desired.</li><li>Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.</li><li>Knowledge: In-depth understanding of technology trends in data centers, renewable energy, and electric grids. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Attributes: Innovative thinker with a proactive approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Leadership Experience: Proven experience working with and presenting to senior leadership and executives. Demonstrated ability to influence and drive strategic decisions. Ideal candidates will have prior management experience and demonstrated ability to recruit and lead a distributed team.</li><li>Technical Background: Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience working as an engineer or in an industrial sector.
