About the Role:

As part of the medical team reporting to the Manager of Clinical Projects, this role provides clinical research study support for implementation of assigned protocols, recruitment and engagement with study participants, monitoring and reporting of data collection, and preparation of study data for analysis. 

 

As part of the study team, the Research Assistant will ensure that studies are conducted and documented in accordance with the IRB protocol, standard operating procedures and Good Clinical Practices.

Day to day:

  • Perform daily tasks to support the build, implementation, and analysis of research studies focused on the impact of technology on child and adolescent mental health and well-being.

  • Collect, manage, and analyze data using established research protocols and methodologies.

  • Create and maintain reports to communicate study progress and relevant information.

  • Proactively troubleshoot daily study operations to improve efficiency and participant experience.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of research activities, including IRB protocols and GCP compliance.

  • Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.

  • Recruit and enroll research participants to meet study targets, demonstrating professional drive and upholding the highest ethical standards.

  • Engage and maintain exceptional written and verbal communication with research participants in order to optimize retention and engagement in study activities.

  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings.

  • Contribute to medical team discussions on research design and product roadmaps.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelors degree in an associated field such as psychology, sociology, public health, data health science or a similar discipline.

  • 2+ years in a clinical research setting, with firsthand experience engaging with participants and collecting, cleaning and analyzing study data.

  • Alternatively, 2+ years as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, with firsthand experience designing, building, testing and maintaining business reports and dashboards.

  • Trained and experienced in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).  Exhibit uncompromising integrity and ethical standards, safeguarding participant confidentiality and sensitive data in strict accordance with IRB protocols.

  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Experiencing writing and/or reviewing study documentation.

  • Proficiency with survey-based electronic data capture (EDC) systems for research data collection and management.

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with fully remote research study recruitment and operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good presentation, negotiation and influencing abilities.

  • Ability to work independently, using established protocols and standard operating procedures, to optimize participant engagement and daily study tasks.

  • Effective at analyzing and escalating issues at the right functional level, solving problems and resolving conflicts in a timely manner.

  • Proactive, conscientious and precise in delivery of quality work. 

  • Innovative, agile learner with curiosity about the intersection of technology use and well-being in children and adolescents.

  • Possess a drive to master new digital health technologies, rapidly becoming a technical expert who can troubleshoot issues for participants and ensure seamless flow of high-quality data.

  • Available and willing to travel 2-4 weeks per year for team meetings.
