What youll do<ul><li>Build AI Agents for admins that reduce friction and boost efficiency.</li><li>Deliver reusable AI Agent components and patterns (prompt templates, evaluation, RAG, contextual retrieval, reporting).</li><li>Scale AI adoption across Atlassian by standardizing agent development and enabling other teams to build faster.</li><li>Build and ship features and capabilities daily in highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment</li><li>Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security, and performance considerations in mind</li><li>Mentor and level up the skills of your teammates by sharing your expertise in formal and informal knowledge sharing sessions</li><li>Ensure full visibility, error reporting, and monitoring of high performing backend services</li><li>Participate in Agile software development including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, show and tell demo sessions</li></ul> Your background<ul><li>7+ years of experience building and developing backend applications</li><li>Bachelors or Masters degree with a preference for a Computer Science degree</li><li>A passionate backend engineer, eager to learn and ship impactful features</li><li>Experience building LLM-powered systems and prompt engineering</li><li>Familiarity with RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, or fine-tuning workflows</li><li>Motivated to explore greenfield AI initiatives and learn continuously</li><li>Experience crafting and implementing highly scalable and performant RESTful micro-services</li><li>Proficiency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, Python, etc.)</li><li>Fluency in any one database technology (e.g. RDBMS like Oracle or Postgres and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB or Cassandra)</li><li>Broad knowledge and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands-on experience of public cloud offerings (AWS, GAE, Azure)</li><li>Skilled in writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code</li><li>Strong in debugging and problem-solving, especially across services and APIs</li><li>Comfortable in fast-paced, Agile, collaborative environments</li><li>Excited to take ownership of modules and deliver end-to-end</li></ul>If you’re excited about building scalable AI-powered systems, working with LLMs and prompt engineering, and contributing to impactful solutions that help customers and admins, we’d love to hear from you!
