In this role, you’ll get the chance to:<ul><li>Regularly tackle the largest and most complex problems on the team, from technical design to launch, with a focus on customer impact and measurable outcomes</li><li>Deliver shared frontend platforms, libraries, and tooling (design system components, UI frameworks, build/test infra) used by multiple teams and products</li><li>Determine plans-of-attack on large, cross-team projects; de-risk ambiguous problem spaces through RFCs, ADRs, and rapid prototypes</li><li>Routinely solve complex frontend architecture challenges and define standards for TypeScript, React, state management, data fetching, error handling, and release strategies; drive adoption across teams</li><li>Lead code reviews and documentation at scale; take on high-risk bug fixes and incidents, driving durable technical and process improvements</li><li>Set the standard for thorough, meaningful code reviews, test strategies, and operational excellence in the web stack</li><li>Partner across engineering, product, design, and research to drive company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects (accessibility, performance, reliability, security, privacy)</li><li>Transfer your depth of knowledge across JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks to help teams choose the right tools and evolve the stack responsibly</li><li>Mentor and sponsor engineers across levels; grow technical leaders; influence hiring standards and technical leveling</li></ul> Your background<ul><li>Experience with Javascript (ES6), HTML5, CSS and experience with modern Javascript frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue).</li><li>Bachelors or Masters degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience).</li><li>Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including but not limited to bundling, linting, testing and releasing.</li><li>Extensive experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai).</li><li>Strong comfortability with the JavaScript language and ecosystem.</li><li>Experience building frontend applications at scale.</li><li>Experience in Agile software development methodologies.</li><li>You strive to write code that lasts for years, not months.</li><li>Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.</li><li>Experience mentoring more junior engineers.</li></ul>Our perks &amp; benefitsAtlassian offers a variety of perks and benefits to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
