THE ROLE

AG1 is looking for a Data Scientist with a strong foundation in experimentation and machine learning to join our growing Data Science & Analytics.  Reporting to the Director, Data Science & Analytics, this role will work across the full spectrum of applied data science—from shaping hypotheses and designing A/B tests, to building models and tools that scale the impact of our insights.  You’ll work closely with partners across Finance, Product, and Customer Experience to deliver actionable, measurable outcomes, while also helping build the infrastructure that allows us to move faster and smarter as a data-driven organization. The Data Scientist will play a key part in surfacing actionable insights that drive customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is deeply curious about consumer behavior, highly skilled in data wrangling and statistical modeling, and thrives on driving measurable impact in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment. They are equally passionate about uncovering precise, actionable insights and building scalable, reusable data science tools that empower decision-making across the business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to inform decision-making across product and customer experience initiatives.
  • Create internal tools, templates, and frameworks to streamline data science workflows and experimentation at scale.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to uncover opportunities, frame problems, and deliver solutions that are both technically sound and practically useful.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models that drive actionable insights, personalization, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop dashboards and self-serve analytics tools to extend the reach of your work across the organization.
  • Apply rigorous statistical techniques to ensure the validity and reliability of experimentation and modeling.
  • Document methodologies and contribute to a shared library of reusable components to accelerate team velocity.
  • Develop predictive models (e.g., customer segmentation, churn, LTV forecasting, recommendation systems).
  • Build, test, and deploy machine learning algorithms that improve personalization and customer experience.
  • Translate complex data science concepts into clear business recommendations.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data science role with hands-on exposure to both experimentation and machine learning.
  • Deep understanding of statistical inference and experimental design.
  • Experience with supervised learning models, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, etc.) and SQL.
  • Track record of building reusable components, tools, or libraries that improve productivity for yourself and others.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill technical findings into clear business insights.
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools like Tableau, Streamlit or similar.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities and evolving goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in consumer health, e-commerce, or subscription-based business models.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands or marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or other modern data stack tools.
  • Background in economics, statistics, computer science, applied math, or a related field.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Competitive compensation and performance-based incentive plans.
  • A 100% remote working environment (excluding Laboratory positions), which has been implemented from day one.
  •  A strong company culture that is enforced through the hiring process to ensure values alignment and a highly collaborative team.
  • A mission-driven approach to everything that we do, with an overall goal to significantly improve our customers’ health and wellness.
  • A high-growth, dynamic environment with opportunities for your direct impact to be felt.
  • Paid holidays, company-wide mental health days, and unlimited PTO (based on your country of residence).
  • In-person team meetups for optimal collaboration, team building and accelerating productivity.
  • A work environment and culture  that is based on high performance, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • The opportunity to work with passionate, high-growth, business-minded colleagues who bring their all to our mission each and every day.
