In this role, you’ll engage with a diverse set of use cases where Apache Airflow plays a central role in the overall solution architecture. Your work will directly enable customers to scale their operations and achieve their goals by adopting Astronomer’s products.This role is a pre-sales oriented role and as such will involve up to 30% travel to support business and customer engagements.You will support customers primarily in the East Coast and EMEA time zones. Comfort and flexibility in working across these time zones are essential to ensure effective collaboration and drive customer success.<h2>What you get to do:</h2><ul><li>Implement Astronomer’s software and services in the core of some of the world’s largest businesses and organizations.</li><li>Guide our largest and most complex customers in their Apache Airflow journeys.</li><li>Act as the core interface between the Customer, Sales, and Product to ensure that the broader solution around the platform is solving pain points and bringing value to customers.</li></ul><h2>What you bring to the role:</h2><ul><li>7 years of experience in a data infrastructure role or equivalent role.</li><li>5 years in a customer-facing role.</li><li>Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred).</li><li>Proficiency in Python/Go.</li><li>Good understanding of network complexities and architectures.</li><li>Versatile Terminal and CLI user, as this will be a hands-on role, and frequently without access to a GUI.</li><li>Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems.</li><li>Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure operating at scale.</li><li>Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling.</li><li>Cloud-native data architecture experience.</li><li>Strong customer-facing skills.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills - should be able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical folks succinctly.</li></ul><h2>Bonus points if you have:</h2><ul><li>Prior experience using or administering Apache Airflow, Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, or Prefect.</li><li>Enterprise data experience with or in regulated environments.</li><li>Experience with scripting/automation, specifically infra (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, etc.).</li><li>Experience with ElasticSearch/Prometheus/Vault.</li></ul>The estimated total compensation for this role ranges from $200,000 - $240,000, along with an equity component. This range is merely an estimate, and the width of the range reflects willingness to consider candidates with broad prior seniority.
