The GMAL will play a key role in the development of medical strategy and execution of key deliverables to support the launch and lifecycle management globally for the GI program. The post holder will have specific ownership of key strategic elements of the medical plans and work collaboratively with the rest of the GMA team. This GMAL role will report to the Head of IO, GI Global Medical Affairs. What Youll Do:Working with other internal teams and colleagues and responsible for development and delivery of key elements of the global medical tactical plan, the key tasks of the GMAL include:<ul><li>Manage multiple projects and tasks and works autonomously</li><li>Manage elements of the brand budget</li><li>Work together with Senior GMALs to deliver evidence strategy including ESR strategy</li><li>Works with the functions/functional Leads to deliver evidence strategy including developing an ESR strategy and reviewing ESRs and RWE protocols against agreed priorities</li><li>Partners with Sr GMAL to operationalize Expanded Access Program (EAP) strategy</li><li>Serve as Strategic Lead for Advisory boards including developing a strategic plan for ad boards, shaping the agendas, and working collaboratively to ensure the right stakeholders are included in discussions</li><li>Ensures GPT &amp; brand team awareness of key external developments (e.g. competitors, data releases, congresses, social media) and articulates the implications to the brand</li><li>Develop an external education plan including delivery of AstraZeneca-led Symposia and other scientific exchange meeting</li><li>Responsible for publication strategy for the specific indication.</li><li>Will manage and/or contribute to Global Medical Projects</li><li>Ensures that all Medical and business activities are carried out in compliance with AZ standards, standard operating procedures and external regulations</li></ul> Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum of Master’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent medical/scientific qualifications and/or significant industry and/or therapeutic experience.</li><li>Minimum of 4 years’ experience in pharma/life sciences and/or medical experience (e.g. significant clinical/academic/medical affairs agency roles/organizations)</li><li>Good communication and presentation skills in English</li><li>Experience of leading on medical plans and strategic medical initiatives</li><li>Ability to influence others without authority</li><li>Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams</li><li>Good understanding of drug development and commercialization processes including understanding of outcomes research /payer access issues</li><li>Proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret clinical trial and published data</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Advanced Scientific degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD)</li><li>3+ years in a Headquarters Medical Affairs role or Global Clinical R&amp;D</li><li>Oncology experience</li><li>Country launch experience</li><li>Documented track record of successfully developing and executing Medical Plans both in terms of evidence generation, scientific communications, and external expert engagements</li></ul>Are you ready to bring new insights and fresh thinking to the table? Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
