Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.Role and responsibilitiesAs a Summer Intern in Mechanical Analysis, you will participate in developing analytical and numerical models of portions of the lithography system and/or associated tooling that show technical feasibility and provide guidance to design engineers. You will work on sub-systems involving robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics, and/or opto-mechanics. Precision machine design at ASML starts with understanding the functional requirements ,deriving specifications, and ensuring those performance specifications are met through a combination of analysis and testing. You will collaborate with design engineers and other analysts in a multidiscipline project team to perform engineering analysis, build and test prototypes, and support system integration and testing. You may also be involved system optimization by addressing technical concerns, providing guidance, and modeling assistance in a wide variety of application areas, particularly those involving structural mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, and optics.This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.Education<ul><li>Candidate towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other engineering discipline with relevant coursework, with minimum 2 years completed (must be a current student and pursuing a degree).</li><li>The hired candidate must have ability to communicate effectively in the English language both written and oral.</li></ul>ExperienceWe are seeking an individual with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering with experience and/or interest in mathematical modeling techniques such as the finite element method.
