Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Senior Stormwater Transportation Engineer to join our national drainage practice. We have a strong backlog of work and need to expand our NC team in Charlotte, Raleigh or Greensboro. Role accountabilities: <ul> <li>Engineering design for numerous roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements across the southeast.</li> <li>Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, pond design, and erosion and sedimentation control.</li> <li>Prepare construction plans and project displays.</li> <li>Prepare cost estimates, reports, and technical memos.</li> <li>Assist in proposal development, presentations, and interviews.</li> <li>Provide quality control reviews for drainage calculations and plans.</li> <li>Utilize various design software including MicroStation, Inroads, ORD-SUDA, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Microsoft Excel, GIS, ICPR, HEC-RAS, HY8, FlowMaster, Pond Pack, StormCAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D to assist with the design and preparation of construction plans.</li> <li>Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines including roadway, structures, utilities, etc. </li> <li>Direct and mentor junior engineers </li> <li>Manage a team of up to 5 engineers</li> <li>Requires no technical supervision</li> </ul>   Qualifications &amp; Experience: Required Qualifications: <ul> <li>10+ years of relevant NCDOT drainage design experience.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET Accredited University</li> <li>North Carolina PE</li> </ul> Key Skills/Attributes: <ul> <li>Experience working on NCDOT projects.</li> <li>In depth understanding of Bridge Hydraulics Analysis is a plus.</li> <li>Understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations is a plus.</li> <li>Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems.</li> <li>Experience with permitting requirements with respect to drainage for transportation projects.</li> <li>Knowledge of stormwater treatment using appropriate BMPs suitable for the linear nature of transportation projects </li> <li>Possess effective communication (written and verbal), teamwork skills and the flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work.</li> <li>Exhibit the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and other challenges regularly.</li> </ul> Why Arcadis?
