Role description: Our Water team is tackling some of the UK’s most technically challenging projects and AMP8 programmes. We are renowned for our expertise in delivering these complex schemes and collaborate closely with some of the country’s most prominent and well-known water companies and contractors. Were recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer on these challenging projects &amp; programmes for AMP8. Youll play a key role as a leader within our multidisciplinary delivery teams, working on a variety of water and wastewater capital projects where youll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to clients regionally as well as across the UK. Role accountabilities: <ul> <li>Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production, checking, review or approval of complex mechanical design deliverables.</li> <li>Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.</li> <li>Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.</li> <li>Technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, in a Design Lead capacity where assigned, using latest digital design processes and resources.</li> <li>Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers.</li> <li>Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA)</li> <li>Establish and grow relationships with clients and delivery partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters</li> <li>Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.</li> <li>Mentoring and technical supervising colleagues with their professional development.</li> <li>Line management and performance development responsibility for assigned staff.</li> <li>Capturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations.</li> <li>Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally.</li> </ul> Qualifications &amp; Experience: <ul> <li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree</li> <li>Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM) </li> <li>Significant experience  and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably related to water and wastewater industry.</li> <li>Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms</li> <li>Team leader with collaborative behaviours</li> <li>Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience</li> </ul> Why Arcadis?
