Role description:

Arcadis is searching for a Mechanical Designer to join its growing team.

Are you looking to be a part of a team that specializes in the design, tendering and contract administration of mechanical systems such as HVAC, process exhaust, hydronics, plumbing, fire protection, etc.? You will have the opportunity to work on projects in Toronto, as well as collaborating with other Arcadis offices all throughout North America. Role accountabilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for buildings, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement process engineering systems.
  • Participate in site assessments to verify mechanical systems performance.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Assist in preparing engineering calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in project planning.
  • Design building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Support the design of industrial systems and service connections.

We are seeking an entry level candidate with exceptional oral and written communication skills to facilitate effective interaction with both internal teams and clients, ensuring clear and concise exchanges. An ability to organize and manage multiple project assignments simultaneously is crucial, highlighting the need for strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring precision in all tasks. Additionally, strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and understanding across various levels of engagement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree from a mechanical building services/engineering program
  • Demonstrable experience in Mechanical Engineering design of industrial facilities
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Micro Station, Revit, 3D software, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA and ASHRAE standards and familiarity with, TSSA Fuel, industrial ventilation standards and other industrial standards

The salary range for this position is $56,000-84,000 per year. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
