Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an ITS Designer/Project Manager to join our team. This role will play a vital role in delivery of ITS projects for public and private sector clients. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing transportation projects from conception to completion, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and delivery within established timelines and budgets. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety in urban environments.
Location in Seattle area is preferred. Candidates will have the ability to work remotely or in office but will be required to attend internal and external client meetings in person as needed.
The ITS Designer/Project Manager will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
- Proactively support public agency clients in the planning, design, procurement and implementation of technology systems for traffic management, incident management, fleet management, customer information, fare collection, maintenance management, traffic management, and other business needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety in urban environments
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation
- Communicating effectively with team members, clients and stakeholders to clarify design requirements, address technical issues, and provide updates on project progress.
- Developing ITS concept designs and detail design using AutoCAD, MicroStation Revit software to create ITS layouts, wiring diagrams, detailed drawings, network schematics
- Developing project schedules using MS Project and Excel Documentation: Organize and manage files and project documentation effectively.
- Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure clarity of objectives and adherence to project requirements
- Manage project budgets, resources, and expenditures, ensuring efficient utilization and adherence to financial constraints
- Providing training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience post degree
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- PE or ability to get PE within 12 months
- Must possess a US Driver’s license
- Knowledge of, or interest in, transportation and transit systems
- Interest in emerging transportation mobility concepts and the evolving alignment of technology, user needs and mobility
Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:
- Proficient in the design of ITS.
- Proficiency with CAD software tools and related applications including AutoCAD, MicroStation Revit software O365, MS Project, Visio Communication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving skills and a practical thinker
- Attention to detail is critical in the success of this position.
- Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $78,415 - $129,385. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
