EpiSci delivers unmatched speed, cost-efficiency, and scalability as the preferred partner for defense agencies and industry teams seeking mission-critical autonomy solutions.</p> <h2>About the role</h2> <p>As a Senior 5G Software Engineer on the Cognitive Sensing and Radio Frequency team at EpiSci, your role is pivotal in supporting our wireless communications engineering team. You will play a significant role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge 5G software solutions that align with our mission to deliver advanced wireless communication and 5G (and beyond) technologies. This position requires extensive expertise in wireless and 5G communication protocols, software development, and integration with Software Defined Radios.</p> <h2>At Applied Intuition, you will:</h2> <ul> <li>Develop software solutions for 5G wireless communication systems</li> <li>Implement the latest 3GPP specification 5G NR (New Radio) protocols and algorithms</li> <li>Integrate 5G software into USRP and other SDR platforms</li> <li>Develop and execute test plans to validate 5G software performance and reliability</li> <li>Strong interest in 5G O-RAN, 6G, Sidelink, NextGen Wireless Comms, and Wireless IoT</li> </ul> <h2>Were looking for someone who has:</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications, or a related field</li> <li>5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on wireless communication technologies</li> <li>Software integration and understanding of 5G architecture and 3GPP standards</li> <li>Experience with RF tuning Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) systems</li> <li>Experience in 5G open-source software communities, including OpenAirInterface5G (OAI), and integrating USRP hardware with software protocols and systems</li> </ul> <h2>Travel Requirements:</h2> <ul> <li>Must be willing to travel as projects requires; estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
