You will play a crucial role in supporting the post-trade life-cycle of the activity of various digital assets, ensuring timely settlements, reconciliations, and implementing strong risk mitigation strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of the institutional trading model with experience within the front-, middle-, or back-office in either digital assets or traditional finance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, the ability to handle complex tasks, organizational knowledge, and effective communication and influence capabilities. You have a full understanding of the settlement operations, as well as the regulatory and operational considerations of each step. You support client interactions across multiple teams and work closely with trading to ensure processes and procedures are developed and continuously refined. </div><div><br /></div><div>Must be based in Portugal and be able to support a 24x7x365 trading desk, including weekend and holidays, as coverage need dictates.</div><div><br /></div><div>We have created the Factors of Growth &amp; Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Trading Operations role:</div><h3>Technical Skills:</h3><ul><li>Leverage deep understanding of traditional financial services, products and strategies as required to provide thought leadership and strategic support to Anchorage Digital clients and the goals they have to implement their own strategies.</li><li>Efficiently manage all Counterparty and Client settlement requests within agreed SLAs. Monitor progress towards meeting established KPIs for trade operations.</li><li>Support day-to-day spot, lending, and derivatives operations, ensuring all relevant processing and maintenance functions are completed accurately, within prescribed time-frames, and in accordance with established procedures.</li><li>Utilize blockchain explorers, trading platforms, and other relevant software and tools to reconcile and monitor the activity of different digital assets across both internal ledgers and external systems (banks, custodians, etc.).</li><li>Perform cash positioning and inventory management for various product flows to ensure that we have the right assets at the right place at the right time to optimize the firm’s treasury management, mitigate risks, and streamline client settlements.</li><li>Work with engineering and product teams to streamline trading, settlement, and risk operations workflows</li><li>Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure timely provision of accurate trade and settlement data and assist in the resolution of breaks.</li><li>Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to ensure optimal operational efficiency</li><li>Have an understanding of the crypto industry’s landscape, tokens and protocols, and the different verticals in which they’re deployed (staking, governance, etc.).</li></ul><h3>Complexity and Impact of Work:</h3><ul><li>Adapt and learn quickly as business strategies evolve and new products and tasks are introduced.</li><li>Manage the complexities of reconciling and settling transactions involving a wide range of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, and fiat currencies.</li><li>Handle time-sensitive tasks, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines to ensure efficient and timely settlements.</li><li>Create internal presentations, reports, and/or lead projects to enhance internal processes or contribute to the development of new tasks.</li><li>Be a prolific individual contributor, capable of delivering day-to-day results on core tasks autonomously.</li><li>Manage and control the monitoring of all outstanding settlements.</li><li>Effectively prioritize and triage competing tasks by ensuring accuracy with both Client and Counterparty monitoring tools.</li><li>Effectively gauge risks to the organization and to clients, thoughtfully addressing complicated questions.</li></ul><h3>Organizational Knowledge:</h3><ul><li>Stay updated with the evolving cryptocurrency industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices related to trading, settlements and custodial services.</li><li>Possess a comprehensive understanding of different cryptocurrencies, their underlying technologies, and the operational processes involved in custodianship.</li><li>Ensure that knowledge is shared among the team and do not position yourself or others as a single point of failure.</li><li>Be familiar with the responsibilities and interests of interdepartmental teams, as well as foster collaborative relationships and partnerships to achieve common goals.</li></ul><h3>Communication and Influence:</h3><ul><li>Identify any shortcomings in current processes and suggest improvements.</li><li>Actively contribute to discussions within the team to improve processes and productivity, and thoughtfully convey information and insights with impact when working with other teams to address projects &amp; issues.</li><li>Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, such as traders, operations teams, compliance officers, and executives, to resolve settlement-related issues.</li><li>Cultivate strong client relationships by proactively addressing inquiries, providing expert guidance, and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and clarity.</li></ul><h3>You may be a fit for this role if you have: </h3><ul><li>Demonstrated problem solving skills and agility, to identify emerging risks quickly, brainstorm solutions, and pivot when goals change.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years experience supporting the mid- or back-office activities within financial institutions.</li><li>Based in Portugal and are able to support a 24x7x365 trading desk, including weekend and holidays, as coverage need dictates</li></ul><h3>Although not a requirement, bonus points if: </h3><ul><li>Experience in Python, SQL, low-code platforms is a plus.</li><li>A passion for building early-stage startups.</li><li>You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)</li></ul><div><span><b>About Anchorage Digital: Who we are</b></span></div><div><br /></div><div>The Anchorage Village, what we call our team, brings together the brightest minds from platform security, financial services, and distributed ledger technology to provide the building blocks that empower institutions to safely participate in  the evolving digital asset ecosystem.
