Finance Technology Data & Transformation (FTD&T) is an integral part of the Finance organization with a mission to solve Finances existing and evolving data needs by using Technology approved tools to build scalable, reliable, and flexible data structures.
This new position is in the Finance Data Domains Strategy & Support team and will initially have the primary responsibility to support the team’s activities related to Project Guardian, AXP’s top priority project to strengthen our risk management capabilities and controls, along with the hollow out of the ODS legacy regulatory reporting application.
This role will lead and support FTD&T colleagues in delivering the appropriate Project-related Training, Confluence documentation, Product Management, Use Case Management, and Metrics to our group and Finance Business Partners.
This role will provide the successful candidate with a great opportunity to work across multiple areas of FTD&T and have the visibility to learn about multiple parts of Finance’s POA Data Strategy and how it will practically benefit the Finance organization and be at the heart of its’ implementation and progress.
Principle Responsibilities
Some of the principal role responsibilities include:
Documentation & Training
- Ensure adequate controls, documentation and audit trails are in place to comply with Project Guardian internal and external control requirements and to meet our Finance customers end user needs
- Collaborate with Product Owners to implement data process controls and support ongoing process maintenance efforts
- Work with Technology, Finance partners, source system owners, and other stakeholders to create new documentation for all new Project Guardian processes
- Work with the FTD&T Product Owners and wider Project Guardian & ODS hollow out colleagues to create required Training materials for all the new and updated processes
ODS Hollow Out
- Lead the team’s support of the hollowing out of ODS into the POA Finance Data Management infrastructure
- Finance Process Analysis working with Finance Process Owners and other teams to understand and document POD and POA processes
Use Case Management
- Maintain / update the current FTD&T Use Case Management processes
- Work with the Use Case requestees and FTD&T colleagues to document, analyze, design and implement to appropriate solutioning, as well as progress tracking
- Increase the awareness and effective communication of all FTD&T Use Case processes
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Ability to see end-to-end process with multiple functions interrelating and global system flows
- Ability to influence and collaborate with Business Partners acting as an enabler to business implementation in a fully controlled way
- Work very closely with, and build relationships with other departments, including Controllership, Decision Support, Tax, Treasury and Technologies
- Requires demonstrated ability to forge partnerships, gain respect and credibility across the business in order to implement initiatives
- Contribute toward process improvements through ongoing review of processes / methods to create efficiencies and eliminate non-value-added work
Delivering Independently As Part Of A Global Team
- Proven ability to leverage and apply your Finance knowledge, experience and expertise across a broad spectrum of Finance processes and scenarios
- Ability to take responsibility and work with little supervision, as well as having excellent communication and good presentation skills
- Proven ability to work efficiently with a wide range of team members and management across different functions and cultural diversity
- Ability to operate within a team environment, whilst fulfilling on goals that you are individually accountable for
- Ability to manage multiple sub-projects with varying deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Technology, Information Management, Data Management or similar field
- Experienced Finance Manager with at least 7 years demonstrable Finance / Operations back office / Decision Support / Controllership and / or Finance project experience and knowledge
- Project / Change Management skills with ability to support global teams and to collaborate across geographies in a matrix structure and deliver on customer expectations
- Good knowledge of Agile methodology and delivery concepts
- Basic understanding of SQL and familiarity with query tools (Hive / Big Data Query) and visualization tolls (Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to create impactful relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated to the delivery of high-quality service to consistently exceed customers’ expectations
- Results driven and ability to perform multiple tasks, work to strict deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and demonstrated strength as a quick learner
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
