How will you make an impact in this role?

Launched in 2012, Amex Offers is a digital advertising platform that connects Merchants and brands with the tens of millions of American Express Card Members across the globe. The Amex Offers team develops strategic marketing partnerships that deliver unique differentiated value for Merchants and Advertisers to reach these high-spending Card Members in the digital channels where they engage with American Express, delivering deep insights and maximizing results. Through this complete marketing solution, we can help advertisers get laser-focused on who our mutual customers are, what they want, and how we can meet their needs.

We are seeking a commercially minded Director of US Advertiser Analytics to lead the strategic analytics function supporting our merchant partnerships and the adoption/sales of Card-Linker Offer (CLO) / AMEX Offers solutions. In this highly visible and client-facing role, you will work together with Business Development, Customer Success and Product to develop compelling data-driven insights that unlock growth opportunities for merchants, optimize campaign performance, and shape our CLO value proposition. 

The successful candidate will be a bridge between data and dealmaking – influencing revenue outcomes by helping merchants/advertisers understand the measurable impact of their spend and how CLO programs can drive incremental growth and return on advertising spend. 

This role requires a strong focus on defining efficient growth opportunities, critical advertiser-specific nuances, an ability to lead advertiser prioritization and strategic account planning. Core to this is stakeholder management, clear communication, and data-drive perspectives. 

Ideal candidates will have analytics or consulting backgrounds, experience directly working with card networks or transaction data and familiarity with CLO platforms, affiliate marketing, or bank loyalty ecosystems. Leadership experience is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the analytics lead in strategic merchant / advertiser conversations, providing pre-sales insights, performance forecasts and ROI modelling. 
  • Ability to spot under-leveraged audiences, valuable segments, untapped offering constructs and CLO specific trends that drive ROI
  • Understand advertiser’s KPI’s (Brand lift, ROI, conversion) and how to translate their goals into measurable campaign objectives using 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data.
  • Ability to partner with product, sales, and marketing teams to identify trends, generate hypotheses, and articulate how insights align with advertiser objectives and Amex Offers’ overall growth strategy.
  • Deliver post-campaign analysis and insights that quantify lift, incrementality and customer behavior change.
  • Partner closely with Business Development, Customer Success, Product and broader analytics teams to refine and evolve AmEx Offers & Digital Media value proposition.
  • Deliver insights more broadly Influence go-to-market strategies by identifying vertical-specific trends and merchant priorities.
  • Proven leadership in managing analysts or cross-functional initiatives. Able to mentor others in both technical skills and the art of insight-driven storytelling. Lead and mentor a team of 4+ US-based managers and analysts.
  • Skilled in presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests and incrementality studies to understand offer impact and optimize future targeting.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  8 – 12 years in analytics, consulting or data science roles, with some experience in client-facing, commercial context.
  • Bachelors degree
  • Proven experience supporting revenue or sales teams; preferably in Ad Tech, Card-Linked Offers, Payments, or loyalty marketing
  • Expertise in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Looker); Python is highly desired.
  • Deep understanding of marketing measurement
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance statistical rigor with business pragmatism.
  • Prior leadership experience.

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
