Job Description

The Senior Product Engineer (Microsoft 365) applies deep expertise across key business functions to deliver product features by aligning Microsoft 365 capabilities with client business processes. The role is responsible for creating technical and process designs, as well as configuring vendor software, to support new or existing complex enterprise-wide and business unit applications and maintenance initiatives. The Senior Product Engineer is also aware of vendor feature roadmaps and understands how to navigate support processes and developer groups to gain insight and influence future direction.

This position is offered to an experienced Microsoft 365 engineer, with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite, who is eager to help drive and support Allstate’s complex Microsoft 365 services.

The ideal candidate will possess the following: good attitude, clear communication skills (both verbal and written), be a team player, a self-starter who is able to work independently, capable of multi-tasking, managing multiple complex tracks of work, deliver on commitments and be able to troubleshoot complex issues. The internal Allstate job title used for this role is Vended Application Lead Consultant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create the functional design, leveraging moderate technical skills, to address complex business processes or issues or to address the requirements of a set of product features
  • In partnership with the business groups and technical teams, provide knowledge and support for resolving technology issues in multiple areas of the business; acknowledged as a subject matter expert in multiple processes and applications
  • Support the planning, conduct, and review of module and integration testing for all but the most complex projects
  • Organize, lead and finalize feature review sessions for complex business issues/requirements and document resulting decisions; provide coaching to newer team members on their features and delivery
  • Develop overall product planning by contributing to/creating stories for complex features in areas of responsibility, including guiding the story development for other team members who may be learning
  • Configure or develop within vendor software; review and verify operation of new vendor release features. Leverage vendor defect resolution procedures and support tools to resolve issues.
  • Use knowledge of integrated requirements to evaluate proposed software products in line with strategic corporate and vendor direction
  • Provide training for other team members and users; assist in developing team bench strength
  • Manage the issues and blockers for assigned features and product stories

Experience

  • 4 years or more of extensive knowledge and recent Microsoft 365 product experience (Preferred)
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-level installable and cloud software/SaaS solutions such as Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, Visio Online.
  • Designing large enterprise-level solutions upon technical, application and business requirements 
  • Knowledge to develop and execute complex deployment scenarios 
  • Consulting to support hybrid platform solutions and platform rationalization 
  • Extensive experience with PowerShell scripting required   
  • Knowledge of MS security (Patch Management) 
  • Writing Technical & Support Documentation

Education

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $92,560.00 - $150,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
 
*** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e., commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
