Claim Litigation provides strategic legal counsel to the Company’s Claims Organization on claims handling practices and matters involving potential or threatened extra-contractual exposure to the Company. These claims often carry significant financial and reputational risk, requiring deep litigation expertise, strategic oversight, and a strong understanding of claims handling practices.<br /><br />We are seeking a Managing Counsel to oversee first-party litigation against the Company arising from the handling of homeowners and property insurance claims. This includes oversight of lawsuits brought by insureds for breach of contract, bad faith, and other complex insurance-related allegations. The role will collaborate closely with outside counsel and internal Claims personnel to develop strategic resolution and litigation strategies, including assisting with discovery, witness preparation, and settlement recommendations. <br /><br />The ideal candidate will have solid and relative experience in a law firm or in-house legal department related to first-party property claims, and some experience managing or litigating bad faith or extra-contractual matters.
